Experienced Nationwide Trial Lawyers

Stacey K. Gibson

Stacey’s practice focuses primarily on construction law, and construction and business litigation. Stacey represents clients in every facet of the construction industry, from general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to owners, engineers, and architects. Stacey’s practice involves dispute resolution for claims including breach of contract, differing site conditions, terminations, performance and payment bonds, and mechanic’s liens. Stacey’s clients benefit from her extensive experience as a Program Manager and Professional Engineer working in the oil and gas industry before pursuing law.

Stacey earned an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University before being responsible for over $250 million dollars of capital improvement projects for oil and gas midstream refining owners in Texas, Louisiana, California and Washington. Her wide experience includes module construction, wharf loading arm replacements, supplier qualifications, tank farm cleaning, blast door retrofits, hydrocracker and utility turnaround scopes, safety and risk management, and small and mid-capital program execution. Stacey became a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas in 2017.

After a decade in construction management, Stacey attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor (magna cum laude). At UMKC, Stacey competed on the UMKC Law School Mock Trial Team, served as the Business Editor for the UMKC Law Review, Board of Barristers President, and President of The Powell Inn (UMKC’s Phi Delta Phi Chapter). Stacey’s active volunteer work includes working with organizations dedicated to supporting orphaned children internationally, promoting the local community where she lives, and mentoring women in engineering and law. She joined the Board of Directors for Childcare Worldwide in 2021. Since graduating, Stacey continues to volunteer judging mock trial competitions for the law school and joined the Board of Directors for Kansas City’s Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts (KCVLAA).

Stacey is a native of Texas but has lived in Louisiana, Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, California, Idaho, and Washington before returning to Kansas City, where she currently resides with her three beloved pets.
